If you are planning a geographic move for your family in 2018, here is one criteria to add the list that zillow wont offer; STEM workforce diversity. A recent study by personal finance company Smart Asset ranked cities based on both racial and gender diversity of their STEM workforce in addition to having a sizeable percentage of the population working in STEM fields to begin with.
Philly is the clear winner here with women making up 33% of the STEM workforce and 18% of STEM employees being African American. However, I am so thrilled to see my city, Charlotte, as #2! Nice going, Queen City :).
