Electrical Engineer & Computer Scientist
Ruzena was the first woman to receive a Ph.D. in electrical engineering in Slovakia.
As the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, she is best known for establishing the world-class General Robotics, Automation, Sensing, and Perception (GRASP) Lab. She is also recognized for her work in Artificial Intelligence, robotics, and machine perception.
Ruzena believes in cross-disciplinary research. This has led her to transform medical imaging, robotic movement, and perception. Today, she is a professor at UC Berkeley and still does research in the field of robotic technology.
